Design Direction & Decision
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Jewellery Designer with strong judgement and structural thinking.
This role focuses on design direction, concept evaluation, and decision-making, rather than production volume.
You will work at the front of the design process, helping define what should be designed, refined, or rejected — before execution begins.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design direction and conceptual judgement
- Evaluate and refine early design ideas and structures
- Identify risks, weaknesses, or unnecessary complexity early
- Define clear design intent before execution
- Translate mature decisions into:
- design principles
- structural guidelines
- reusable frameworks
- Support other designers by reducing ambiguity, not by executing for them
What This Role Is Not
- Not a production-heavy role
- Not measured by number of CAD files or renderings
- Not responsible for day-to-day execution or polishing
- Not a last-minute problem-solving role
Who You Are
- A senior-level jewellery designer with confident judgement
- Comfortable saying no to weak or unnecessary ideas
- Strong at evaluating proportions, structure, and feasibility
- Thinks in systems and collections, not isolated pieces
- Values long-term design consistency over short-term novelty
Ideal Background
- 7+ years experience in jewellery design or related fields
- Experience with high-end, fine, or complex jewellery projects
- Familiar with structured design systems and iterative workflows
- Comfortable working alongside AI tools and internal frameworks
How Success Is Measured
- Fewer incorrect design directions taken
- Reduced downstream revisions
- Design decisions that hold up over time
- Clear guidelines that reduce repeated discussion
Design Philosophy
Great design starts with clear decisions — not more options.
